Katharina von Bora

Katharina von Bora was born in 1499 as the daughter of a minor nobleman in Thuringia. She was raised in a household that was deeply religious, and she decided to become a nun at a young age. In 1523, she left her convent and married Martin Luther, the leader of the Protestant Reformation. Katharina von Bora was an important leader of the Protestant Reformation and helped to spread Luther's teachings. She also ran a large household and raised six children. Katharina von Bora was an important figure in the Protestant Reformation and played a significant role in shaping the movement.

Mother Theresa - A Miracle Worker

Mother Theresa was an important figure in Christianity because she devoted her life to helping the poor. She showed that it is possible to live a Christian life while serving others, and she inspired others to do the same. Miracles of Mother Theresa

One of Mother Theresa's most famous miracles is the one she is said to have performed on a man named Monica Besra. Monica Besra was suffering from a tumor on her stomach, and no amount of treatment seemed to be helping. One day, she says she heard a voice telling her to go see Mother Theresa. When she did, Mother Theresa placed her hand on the tumor and prayed for it to go away. Monica Besra claims that the tumor did in fact disappear after that prayer.


Susanna Wesley

Susanna Wesley is best known for her work with her children John and Charles Wesley. Susanna was a devout Christian and sought to pass her faith onto her children. She homeschooled her children and taught them to read and write at an early age. She also drilled them in the scriptures and encouraged them to pray. Susanna is credited with helping to develop the Methodist movement.


Florence Nightingale - Heroic Life

Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820 in Florence, Italy. She was a nurse and a statistician who made important contributions to the profession of nursing. She is considered the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale came from a wealthy family and was educated in England. After her schooling, she traveled to Crimea with the British army to care for wounded soldiers during the Crimean War. There she noticed that many soldiers were dying not from their injuries, but from infections they had contracted in the hospital. Nightingale developed new methods of care that reduced the number of deaths from infection. She also compiled detailed statistics on the conditions in the hospitals and how they affected the death rate.


She also ministered to the soldiers' spiritual needs, providing them with Bibles and religious instruction. Nightingale's work in the Crimea made her a hero both at home and abroad, and she is regarded as the founder of modern nursing. Her faith was a central part of her life and work, and she is considered one of the most important Christian figures of the 19th century.
